Frequently Asked Questions
Why isn't my alarm going off?
Check the following:
- Ensure the alarm is enabled (toggle should be green)
- Verify your device isn't completely powered off
- Check that your device has sufficient battery
- Confirm PulseWake has alarm permissions in Settings → PulseWake
- Make sure you're wearing your Apple Watch (if using Watch features)
Does PulseWake work in Silent Mode or Do Not Disturb?
Yes! PulseWake uses system-critical alerts that bypass Silent Mode, Do Not Disturb, and Sleep Focus. This is a core feature of the app.
Why can't I change the snooze duration?
In this version, snooze is fixed at 7 minutes based on sleep research showing this is an optimal interval. Custom snooze durations may be added in a future update.
How do I choose different haptic patterns?
When creating or editing an alarm, tap the "Pattern" option to select from:
- The Pulse: Steady, consistent vibration
- The Heartbeat: Two quick taps in rhythm
- The Escalator: Gradually increasing intensity
How does the Watch-to-iPhone escalation work?
When your alarm goes off, your Apple Watch will vibrate first for 30 seconds. If you don't dismiss it, your iPhone will automatically start vibrating with stronger haptics. Dismissing on either device stops the alarm on both.
Can I snooze using my Apple Watch?
Yes! Simply press the Digital Crown while the alarm is active to snooze for 7 minutes. You'll feel a haptic confirmation.
Does PulseWake work without an Apple Watch?
Yes, but you'll lose the Watch-specific features (wrist tap, Digital Crown snooze, escalation). The iPhone haptics will work normally.
Can I set recurring alarms?
Not in the current version. Each alarm is one-time only. Support for daily/weekly repeating alarms may be added in future updates.
Why doesn't the app have sound options?
PulseWake is designed specifically for silent, haptic-only wake-ups. This is the core purpose of the app—to wake you without sound.
How do I request a refund?
All purchases are through Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID to request a refund. Apple handles all refund decisions.
Does PulseWake collect my data?
No. PulseWake collects zero data. Everything stays on your device. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Will PulseWake work on my iPad?
Not currently. PulseWake is designed for iPhone and Apple Watch only.
Troubleshooting
Alarm didn't fire at all
- Restart both your iPhone and Apple Watch
